Wow what a year 2018 has been!
How was your year?
I'd love to hear, how was 2018 for you? Hit reply and let me know!
When I reflect on 2018, I look at what I've learnt, how I've grown and what differences I've made to my clients' lives.
From a personal point of view it's been a wonderful year. My daughter started full time in a new school. She settled in really well, as did we (her parents), loving the school's philosophy and ceremonial celebrations. With a total of zero days off school, we're thrilled with how happy and healthy she's been! My son has finished Year 9 and is growing fast. He can't wait for the day when he's taller than his mum! I feel so lucky to have these 2 beautiful souls in my life. I am forever learning from them and they are my main inspiration for stepping up and being the best version of myself.
The big highlights of 2018 for me were going back to England to visit my family for the first time in 6 years, not once but twice!
The first trip was to surprise my dad at his 90th birthday party back in April (middle above). This was a truly special time, and I felt so moved to be part of the big family occasion. Then in September I went with my children, which was the first time in UK for my daughter. We spent a few days in Scotland with my brother which was amazing! We were so lucky to be out in the autumn sun, exploring in nature every day (see photo above left), while reconnecting with my brother and sister-in-law. We definitely felt ALIVE in every sense of the word there ;)
The photo above right is my daughter exploring the garden that I grew up in, at my parent's house in Hertfordshire. It brought back memories of me being that age and helped me to connect to my 6 year old "inner child" again.

Here's a process I recommend doing to wrap up 2018, the good, the bad and the ugly, and take the lessons learned into the New Year. I've done a version of this for the last 3 years and it's been really powerful for many reasons. You don't have to cancel your New Year's Eve plans to do it, any time at the beginning of the year is fine ;)

25 Awesome Vegan Recipes From 2018 With Less Than 10 Ingredients
Here's a great resource I wanted to share...
I know many people start off the New Year with great intentions around eating healthily, and part of that might include having one or two (or more) days a week meat free, or switching your sugary desserts to a delicious, healthy alternative. Either way, I'm sure you'll find something here to inspire you (I've got my eye on the 3-Ingredient Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream 😜!)
The thing that makes every year better than the next: YOU
A message from Mel Robbins that I couldn't have said any better...
"No matter where you are on New Year’s Eve, if it’s at a wild and sparkling party or home in your warm slippers and in bed by 10, I hope you remind yourself that no matter how many mistakes you made or challenges you faced in 2018, YOU are amazing and 2019 can be the year you take real action steps toward the life you want." (from Take 5 with Mel, 27/12/2018)
